SUMMARY:All About Academic Editing
DESCRIPTION:Whether you’re an experienced academic editor or looking to break into this type of editing, join us for a survey of key topics.
Few people set out to become academic editors. Instead, its practitioners come from academia, journalism, industry, and elsewhere. In the first half of this presentation, two experienced academic editors will discuss their career paths, sharing advice on finding work, interacting with clients, and the different kinds of editing that the job requires. This introduction will be followed by two deep dives: one on the challenges and opportunities of AI and the role of editors in the AI era and the other on how editors can help academics write for a broader audience.
