Lindsay Stuart Hill

Do you need clear, compelling content for your magazine, website, annual report, brochure, or news site? I provide quality writing and editing for mission-driven organizations. Versatility is one of my strengths: I have 15 years of experience working with higher education, nonprofit, healthcare, and government institutions, and I’ve written and edited everything from online news stories to gallery labels.

A former creative writing professor and writer-editor for alumni magazines, I help my clients produce copy that people actually want to read. I’m highly skilled at interviewing experts and translating their knowledge into engaging storytelling. I especially love writing about artists and have interviewed many postage stamp designers about their creative process. I’ve also created style guides for multiple clients and am well-versed in AP style.

Current and former clients: The United States Postal Service, Silent Spring Institute, the Frank Batten School of Leadership and Public Policy, the Jefferson Scholars Foundation.
