Victoria Wroblewski
The Inkhorn Editor

Copy editing, line editing, and proofreading services for traditionally and self-published authors.

You’ve brainstormed, plotted, mapped, outlined, written, rewritten, edited, and drafted, and now, finally, you have a manuscript. You’re happy with the story, but you know it’s not ready to publish. You have a habit of missing out words when you’re typing too fast, sure that some word salad from 3 a.m. writing sessions has snuck through your editing passes, and is “straightforward” hyphenated or one word, because you’ve seen it both ways!

That’s where I come in. I’m a copy editor, line editor, and proofreader, and it’s my job to take care of the minutiae that creep in when the creative juices are flowing and getting the idea down is more important than comma usage. I look for inconsistencies of spelling, capitalization, character naming, and descriptions; give suggestions for unclear or confusing passages; correct grammatical errors, and much more. Basically, you wrote a great story, and now it’s my job to help you polish it up for the readers!

In terms of qualifications and general information, I have 11 book-length projects under my belt, fiction and nonfiction, with a few more currently in the works, and I completed the Chicago University Editing Certificate program in May of 2024. I do most of my editing in Microsoft Word, employing tracked changes and comments, and I strive to work with you and edit with sensitivity to your style and intentions; my priority is always for you to retain control of the text.
