Testimonials

In late 2021, I contracted with Amy Farrar to edit my personal memoir. With text, figures, footnotes, and appendices, the manuscript totaled almost 900 pages (300,000 words).

After agreeing to accept the work, Ms. Farrar was both prompt and professional in providing me with a contract that included a time and cost estimate. I found the terms more than reasonable and agreed to have her move forward with the editing. Over the period of about three months, she proceeded with her work and was always liberal in her communications with me about her progress and about things that she thought might need discussion.

After her edits and after rereading the manuscript, I was frankly surprised by how good it “sounded” and was more than satisfied with her efforts. In fact, I added an extra $100 to the final payment as an indication of my total satisfaction with the work.

I found Ms. Farrar to be most professional, more than competent, very efficient, and easy to work with. I am pleased to recommend her most highly and without hesitation to anyone in need of her editing skills.

"It was very easy to work with Amy. Once she started editing my book, she gave me regular updates letting me know how things were progressing. Amy made some very useful suggestions and pointed out things in the book that needed clarification. She suggested I put a map in my book letting readers know where in Europe my book was set and to add a page explaining some of the terms I had used. Amy’s skills were invaluable to me and I feel I now have a very professional manuscript."

"It was a pleasant experience working with Amy! I liked the way she communicated with me throughout the process. She is an extremely good editor, and she made me feel confident enough to follow her edits and guidelines!"
