Amy Farrar started out as the managing editor of a weekly newspaper (The New Egypt Press in New Egypt, New Jersey). She also worked as a staff writer for two international medical trade publications, Infectious Diseases in Children and Infectious Disease News.

On a freelance basis, Amy managed International Wolf magazine and worked as associate editor of Lake Minnetonka Magazine. She has been published in numerous magazines and newspapers and is the author of four books: A Jersey Girl's Guide to the Universe (A Memoir), ADHD, Global Warming, and The Indispensable Field Guide to Freelance Writing.

In late 2021, I contracted with Amy Farrar to edit my personal memoir. With text, figures, footnotes, and appendices, the manuscript totaled almost 900 pages (300,000 words).

After agreeing to accept the work, Ms. Farrar was both prompt and professional in providing me with a contract that included a time and cost estimate. I found the terms more than reasonable and agreed to have her move forward with the editing. Over the period of about three months, she proceeded with her work and was always liberal in her communications with me about her progress and about things that she thought might need discussion.

After her edits and after rereading the manuscript, I was frankly surprised by how good it “sounded” and was more than satisfied with her efforts. In fact, I added an extra $100 to the final payment as an indication of my total satisfaction with the work.

I found Ms. Farrar to be most professional, more than competent, very efficient, and easy to work with. I am pleased to recommend her most highly and without hesitation to anyone in need of her editing skills.
