Jill Amack Editing Services (Perfectionist. Overachiever. Compulsive Copy Editor.)

I am a graduate of the Denver Publishing Institute with 15-plus years of editing experience on more than 200 published books. Ask to see my list! I have been a copy editor, production editor, and the manager of the Copyediting and Proofreading group for one of the country’s leading independent trade book publishers. Now I provide professional editing to book publishers full time. Clients include trade publishers Bloomsbury Children's Books and Walker Books for Young Readers, Penguin Young Readers, Hachette Book Group USA (including Warner Faith, Center Street, and Grand Central Publishing imprints), Tricycle Press (a division of Ten Speed Press), Random House imprints Triumph Books and WaterBrook/Multnomah, WND Books, Sourcebooks, and Fulcrum Publishing. I have trained others on The Chicago Manual of Style (15th edition) and I am up to date on the changes in the 16th. I am happy to adapt to your in-house style.

Online editing in Microsoft Word as well as hard-copy editing and proofreading; tagging and design memos; style sheets for fiction series that include a detailed character list and time line (when appropriate); fact-checking; and Americanizing books previously published in the UK.
