I provide expert academic editing services in psychology and other social sciences for researchers and students. The documents I edit include journal articles, theses/dissertations, conference presentations, and grant applications. Services range from light copyediting (for spelling, grammar, usage, and consistency) to developmental/substantive editing (requires content knowledge of social science research and addresses strength of arguments, structure, and potential concerns of reviewers/committees).
For academic editing, I draw from my experience as a published social psychologist (Ph.D. from Penn State) who has taught scientific writing and research design at multiple universities. I have edited empirical and theoretical journal articles and book chapters and provided consulting for graduate students working on their dissertations.
In addition, I worked for about nine years in human resources, staffing, and management and have inside knowledge regarding hiring for faculty positions and making graduate program admissions decisions. Therefore, I also provide editing and consulting services for people who are applying for academic positions, graduate programs, and recent graduates applying for jobs in industry. I edit resumes, CVs, cover letters, LinkedIn profiles, personal statements, teaching/research statements, and diversity statements.
