Lauryn Smith du Toit

Hi! My name is Lauryn, and I’m a freelance editor based in the San Francisco Bay Area. I have almost 10 years of editing experience, specializing in helping nonfiction, academic, and business writers who are ready to take their print and/or digital content to the next level.

I am particularly familiar with editing high-stakes medical content, and am also comfortable with all the life sciences and environmental subjects, among other topics. My educational background is in journalism, English, biology, and library and information sciences.

In my free time, I manage the library at a local history museum, provide volunteer editing services for the Internet Encyclopedia of Philosophy, and perform curatorial tasks for the Invertebrate Zoology and Geology Department at the California Academy of Sciences.

Thank you for trusting me with your work. Together, we will troubleshoot and perfect your content, ensuring that the end product fits both your vision and your readers’ expectations.
