Hi there, and thanks so much for stopping by! I run an editing business where I work with authors and publishers of Fantasy, Sci-Fi, Horror, and Romance. If you want to publish a professionally polished story that captivates your readers, you're in the right place! I provide a full suite of editing services, from developmental editing to proofreading, and I love helping writers who truly value the craft of storytelling.
I've edited for traditional publishers, self-publishing authors, and indie presses. I'm also part of the copyediting team for Strange Horizons, an award-winning SFF magazine. As a writer myself, I completely understand how nerve-racking (and flat-out terrifying) it can be to hand over your story for edits. When we work together, you can look forward to your edits. Say goodbye to being worried about mean or unconstructive feedback — I'm on your team to help you get this story to your readers!
As far as my background, I've completed the University of Chicago's graduate-level Editing program and specialized in Developmental Editing. (So I'm fluent in both CMOS and book mapping!) I've also taken countless other courses and workshops about writing/publishing. Before shifting to full-time fiction editing, I spent years in technical writing/editing, and have a bachelor's degree in Environmental Science with a Policy concentration. I'm on the board of directors for the San Diego Professional Editors Network, and I'm a member of the EFA, ACES, and PEN (of course!).
One of my main goals is to help authors succeed in creating great stories, especially those that haven’t always been widely available in traditional US publishing. So I encourage BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, and multicultural authors to feel confident approaching me with their projects. I strive to make sure every single one of my authors knows I will work tirelessly to protect and prioritize their unique voice.
I love working on novels, web series, and TTRPGs for adult and YA audiences, but I'm open to a variety of genres, age ranges, and mediums. So how about you and I get started — and let's get that story finished! Send me a message at firstname.lastname@example.org, I can't wait to be a part of your publishing journey!
